There’s no better time to be a woman than right now! More and more we see that women are becoming more outspoken for the right cause and the idea of girl power has gone beyond the Spice Girl era to represent a movement of women standing in unity together.
This International Women’s Day, I’m so PROUD to be a woman and here are my three reasons why:
- Women are on the rise: Just take a look around and you’ll see women are taking over roles in the workplaces that men usually would occupy and growing vastly in knowledge. We see women in Tech, being Senior Directors and CEO’s. Despite the fact that many women are still facing unequal pay, (which sucks by the way) we see that women are not backing down or giving up. Women are speaking up, asking for what they are rightfully worth and with the recent #metoo movement many women are ‘breaking the silence’, encouraging young girls all over the world and letting oppressors know that #timesup!
- Women are Entrepreneurs with a purpose: A huge majority of women are using their life experiences, knowledge and skills to build profitable businesses from the ground up and positively impacting lives! Many have started mentorship programs, become life coaches, and are giving birth to ideas that are simply put; taking over the World! Many of the entrepreneurs I look up to are women. Women with a plan and a purpose to bring about change and build legacies that give our girls hope for a brighter future.
- Women are QUEENS!: Need I say more?! We are beautiful, bold and caring human beings. We are royal in our own different and diverse ways. We are taking up space and not apologizing for it. Not to mention we have women like Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey to look up to!! Yasssss!
There are still many things we face as women but I must say that I’m super happy about the ever-evolving women’s movement especially over the last few years. Being a women entrepreneur myself I can proudly say that being a woman is an amazing blessing and I’m happy to wear this crown! To all you beautiful women, Happy International Women’s Day!
